Therapy for Children with Disabilities in Lezhe

Home » World Vision in Albania and KosovoTherapy for Children with Disabilities in Lezhe

One in 10 children in Albania suffers from at least one disability and 92% of these children have no access to the basic services they need.

How does World Vision help these children with disabilities?

Since 2017, we have offered more than 14,000 therapy sessions to 200 children with disabilities in 5 different municipalities of the country.

We have a  team of experts composed of a physiotherapist, a speech therapist, a social worker and a psychologist who travel daily to the remote areas of the country to visit children with disabilities in their homes and to provide them with the relevant specialized therapies.

We are now seeking funding for specialized services in Lezhe that will offer 3 months of therapy for 40 children with disabilities.  Our team will offer 1-2 therapy sessions per week for children, according to their diagnosis.

Therapy helps children develop, take their first steps, articulate their first words, learn colors, and develop social skills. Meanwhile, parents receive psychosocial support and counseling to help their children progress.

Our vision is to provide specialized services in each remote area of the country where it is most needed.  Please help us to achieve this goal in Lezhe with your donation.
